tumblr.

I suck here, I know. I'm on Tumblr now though, so you should follow me there. (All you imaginary people who read this.) I don't post much knitting stuff right now, though I plan to, but do post some of my instagram pictures. And I talk about tv shows that I watch a lot. So if you like tv check it out. L8s.

The Doctor Donna

I can't say much without giving away spoilers, and there is nothing I hate more than having a show spoiled for me. I've been watching Doctor Who (Just the new version so far) and I just watched the season four finale. All I can say is SAD. The Doctor is always kicking me right in the feels, and this was no exception.
Knitting, I was hoping to finish my daughters mittens tonight, so that she could wear them to skating lessons in the morning, but I seem to have misplaced the first mitten, and I know that if I don't have it right there to count, they won't match up. *Sigh* Hopefully it turns up tomorrow. I have been working on a baby sweater here and there,  just a bit more sleeve and the button hole bad to go. I was considering giving it to a pregnant friend, but it's my first sweater so I think I shall keep it for now. I worry over giving knits to non knitter anyway. They just don't get it. ;) I'll whip a hat for her baby girl, and her older daughter maybe.
My husband's, my best friend's and my birthday are all this month, so we are having a party on the weekend! Which should be quite exciting! A pig roast, and a keg! So we are in full on crazy cleaning mode around here. We need it though! I start watching a friends daughter during the mornings starting next week, so that will be good incentive to keep organized.

Any Doctor Who fans? Favourite Doctor? Favourite Companion?

Ravelry links!

Im back! Two days in a row! Unheard of! I have put together a list of patterns on Ravelry that I am loving right now. I am hoping to cast on for a couple of them right away! I hope you will cast on for some as well, and share what you are knitting or loving on the internets right now!

Firstly, this is the pattern I have been using for the mittens I have been knitting recently. Waiting For Winter Mittens. I used a bulky yarn for the first pair I knit, it wasn't difficult to adjust the pattern though. I really like it for the thumb increases. For this second pair that I am knitting for my daughter, I changed the top decreases though.

The One Night Sweater is one I have been eyeing for quite some time, I think it would make the perfect first sweater! And would be comfy as hell! I just need to find the perfect yarn, I have some Cascade 128 I was considering doubling, but I am still not sold.

I bought the pattern and yarn for  The Mara Shawl several months ago, I just haven't gotten around to casting on for it. I love it, and the MadTosh is gorgeous!

I just spotted The Volcano Cowl within the last couple of days, there aren't even any projects yet! I really like the look of it, and the colour. The girl in the photo's is adorable, and probably what really sold me on the pattern. ;)

I bought the Squall Hat some time ago as well, I think it would make a good introduction to cabling. As usual I simply haven't gotten around to knitting it yet. There are matching mittens as well! They look very cozy!

The Wilde Sweater reminds me of a fairy tale! I need to buy some Malabrigo Rasta, knit one up, and go for a jaunt in the woods! Hopefully I don't run into any witches, or big bad wolves! ;)

I hope you have found some inspiration here! Please share something you have cast on or would like to cast on!

I went to the movies last night, and saw Hansel and Gretel! Me and my sisters quite enjoyed it, I'm not usually one for 3D but it was one of the more well done ones I have seen. It made me jump, and laugh, and I recommend it if you are looking for a movie to see! Next week I plan on seeing Identity Theft, which I am quite excited for! Have you seen any good movies lately?

Happy Apple!

I am currently typing this on my brand spankin' new MacBookPro! I am very excited! I have wanted one for a long time, and we finally bit the bullet and bought one this morning. Hopefully this will make for more posts here! (We finally caved because we have some exciting new business opportunities on the horizon, and the MacBook will come in handy. I kind of kicked my old laptops ass :/ whoops!)

In knitting, I am still working on mittens, a pair for my four year old Abby at the moment. I am hoping to finish them up in the next couple of days, and maybe crank out a couple of hats, or a shawl next. Hopefully next post I will post a few links for some patterns I have been eyeing up! I'm heading to the movies shortly! Hansel and Gretel, which I am quite excited to see!

Any tips from fellow Mac users? What are you knitting on? Seen any good movies lately?

On to a new month!

Well I never did manage to get back here and do another post even though I jotted up several drafts. (I'm FORCING myself to type and post this from my phone right now, just to get it out there) I have plans for some things I would like to do on here, so hopefully this month will see someone progress.
In knitting news, I'm really into mittens right now. Using SusanB. Anderson's new pattern. I'll link and give notes another day though.

How was the first month of the new year for you? What did you accomplish, knitting or otherwise?

(Currently I am reading Under My Skin by Charles De Lint, he is top five of my favourite authors for sure! Have you read anything good lately?!)

Force.

I wrote this post out a couple of times, and now here I am without my notes.
I don't recall what the first version I jotted down was about, the second though was about force. Forcing myself to do things. Which sums up my resolution for the year. I need to force myself to write here, write anywhere really. One of my big things was wanting to write more this year. Write more, read more, knit more, be more organized, and have patience. Something I am sorely lacking.
The knitting isn't going well around here. I made a decision not to knit anything else until I finished a baby sweater that I have had on the needles for too long. I've also had a mild case of startitis, so I reneged on my decision, and then everything I cast on I just could not seem to get to work out for me.
So also no knitting accomplished. None of my other tasks this year are working out for me as well as I would like either.

2013 is going to be our year!

I am constantly back and forth about writing here. My brain wants to, but my body can never seem to find the time or motivation. I am sure this is all over the internet right now, and I am sure like many others I will be right back to my old habits in no time. But one of my "resolutions" is to WRITE MORE. A blog seems like a fun informal place to accomplish that and maybe make some friends. So if you are reading this, PLEASE leave a comment!
I have jotted down some ideas for posts, and what have you, I will be happy though if I manage one post per week or so. That is the goal right now.
I'll (hopefully) be back within the next few days with my other goals for the year.
What are you hoping to accomplish this year?!
